Helori Urease
Cod. 1693 - 15 test
PRINCIPLE OF THE TEST
Helori UREASE is based on the specific feature of Helicobacter pylori, present inside bioptic fragments, to react against urea by means of the specific enzyme urease, located on the bacterium membrane. When the bacterium is present in bioptic fragments dipped into the reagent tube, the enzyme hydrolyses the urea in the detection reagent which colour turns from yellow to red. The specific composition of the reagent allows to avoid false positive results due to the possible presence of other bacteria in the specimen that might produce substrate-induced urease.
PROCEDURE OUTLINE
Place one or more bioptic fragments obtained by means of the gastroduodenal endoscopy into the test-tube and look at possible colour change: the reaction is be considered positive when the reagent turns from yellow to red magenta, thus indicating the presence of Helicobacter pylori.
