ASCA IgG / IgA are quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassays for the determination of autoantibodies directed to Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) are mainly characterized by recurring abdominal pain, diarrhea and weight loss, but their differential diagnosis is often very difficult.

The combination of the determination of IgG and IgA anti-Saccharomyces cerevisiae with the determination of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic to perinuclear (p-ANCA) allows the differential diagnosis between Crohn's disease (ASCA +) and ulcerative colitis (p-ANCA +).
